Terms of service

These terms cover the OrniWeb desktop app and this website. They are offered by Ornitix Technologies, Tamil Nadu, India. If you do not agree, do not download or use OrniWeb.

The software

OrniWeb is a desktop browser. Websites open in a sandboxed Chromium view. You are responsible for the sites you open, the files you download, and the passwords you choose to save on the device. A local block list can warn about listed hosts. It is not a guarantee that a site is safe.

The Windows installer is not published yet. The download button on the home page says the link is coming soon.

Your device

History, bookmarks, downloads, spaces, settings, and passwords are stored on the PC as described in the privacy policy. Ornitix does not host that library. If Windows encryption is unavailable, or a vault file cannot be decrypted, the app keeps the unreadable file and does not replace it with an empty one that pretends to be your data.

Search, links, and ads

Search queries go to the engine you select. Bing and DuckDuckGo requests include a partner code from the app’s config. Google and Ecosia do not. New-tab Amazon and Flipkart links can carry affiliate tags. Those tags are placeholders in the current config. The sponsored card is a fixed creative, not chosen from your history. You can turn that card off.

Premium

The prices ₹199 a month and ₹1,499 a year are examples. The payments backend is off. The Razorpay key in the app is a test placeholder. Simulating a payment only changes a flag on that device. It is not an order. VPN, sync, and a remote assistant are not connected in this build. See Premium and the refund policy.

Updates

A future packaged build may download a signed update from an HTTPS feed and install it when you quit. The feed configured today is a placeholder and is not contacted.

Acceptable use

Do not use OrniWeb to break the law, to attack other systems, or to distribute malware. The app blocks some dangerous navigations (such as javascript and file URLs typed into the address bar). That is a product limit, not legal advice.

No warranty

The app and this website are provided as they are. Ornitix does not warrant that browsing will be uninterrupted, that a site will load, or that encryption will be available on every PC. To the extent Indian law allows, Ornitix is not liable for loss of local data, a site you chose to visit, or a download you chose to open.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Tamil Nadu have jurisdiction, at the place of the company’s registered office once that address is published. The office address is still a placeholder. See Contact.
